It has been over nine months since STAT published reporter Helen Branswell’s first article about a mysterious cluster of pneumonia-like cases in the Chinese city of Wuhan. The cause of those infections was, of course, a new coronavirus called SARS-CoV-2. That virus and the disease it causes, Covid-19, have since become the biggest story in the world.
We at STAT recently asked our Twitter followers to submit their questions about Covid-19 with the hashtag #CovidQsSTAT. In this video, Helen responds to some of the questions we received about the risk of reinfection, vaccine efficacy, and more.

As a Physician (not active in Covid-care); following precautionary measures
has been helpful over 6 months or so. As I am handicapped, I don’t go outside, except for cardiac (MI-LAD stent) care at 6 monthly intervals. Have been stable, with no acute problems, except for mild dry cough UTRI.
Helen has extensive experience as reporter in the biomedical field. However she has absolutely no clinical training whatsoever.
I am sorry but reporting in the field does NOT make your a physician or a nurse or qualified to take care of patients.
This thread is exactly what is wrong with STAT. Their reporters who have decided that they are self appointed experts and can now practice medicine and give clinical advice. These questions should be answered by a medical professional NOT a reporter.
